Seasons:
Zimbabwe is blessed with an amazing climate, the dry winters and wet summers make for some of the best safari experiences. While there are certainly better times of the year to see game and bird species, each season offers viewing opportunities that others may not.

If you're looking to see an abundance of wildlife, typically the best time to travel would be the winter and spring months - May through to September. Due to the low rain fall animals tend to congregate around what little watering holes and flowing rivers there are, which brings together an abundance of species - predator and prey alike.

On the other hand the rainy season, coincides with the breeding and the rearing of young, at this time animals are take advantage of the abundance of water and food to give their young the best chance of survival. For the keen birders, this means many of the migratory birds, that typically leave Zimbabwe's boarders the rest of the year, come back to nest, the best example being the African Pitta.

National Parks:
Zimbabwe has 11 designated National Parks and a number of additional protected areas, each offering a slightly different experience to the next.
